In a friendly tone: One of the most useful things you can buy for your home is a thumbprint door lock. Not only do you get the convenience of being able to unlock your door with a fingerprint, but it also allows you to use any other thumbprint-compatible lock for extra security.
The best part? A thumbprint door lock comes in many different designs, so you can find one that will work with the aesthetic of your home.
In our home, we have one of those thumbprint door locks that will only allow the door’s owner to open it with her fingerprint.
However, you shouldn’t have to wait for anyone else to get home when you’re leaving your house. If you’ve got a thumbprint door lock, there are ways to let yourself out without waiting for anyone else.
One way is with a code you type in first, then push the button on the lock itself.
Another way is by using the built-in pinhole camera that lets you see who’s coming up behind you at all times (thank God!) which makes it really easy to know when your family members are coming home and when they’re not coming back until later.
Up until recently, thumbprint locks could only be used by people with fingerprints that were registered on the system—but now, there’s a way to bypass this restriction. You can register your prints using a thumbprint called “the one-touch print” (which is basically a QR code for your thumbprint), which will allow it to be used by any person with a valid thumbprint.
