A line of vacuum cleaners known as World Vac |TM~ is much more than another new-product introduction. It’s a commitment to serve worthy causes by Eureka Co.
Eureka will contribute a portion of the purchase price of each World Vac to the National Park Foundation for preservation of national parks and monuments and to programs of the American Heart Association directed against heart disease and stroke.
“We consider our efforts to support National Parks and programs about heart disease to be the grandest of enterprises,” says Gilbert L. Dorsey, president of the Bloomington, Ill.-based company, which is part of AB Electrolux.
“We as a company are proud to contribute to the betterment of our planet and its people.”
The World Vac’s logo, the globe, is designed to reflect Eureka as “the company that cares about our world.”
Part of the care commitment is evident in the firm’s Filteraire |R~ dust bags, which are standard in all new models. Filteraire bags filter out 99 percent of dust and dirt, representing part of Eureka’s drive for a cleaner environment.
The World Vac line embraces three uprights with tools on board, one canister, and three Home Cleaning Systems, formerly known as Power Teams (canisters with motorized carpet nozzles for carpeting).
Easy bag changing
The uprights feature 35-ft. power cords, double-sweep brush rolls, permanently attached stretch hoses for above-the-floor cleaning, and new lighted belt-view windows. Two models come with a double-zipper outer bag for easy bag changing.
The World Vac straight-suction canister offers a 5.0 peak hp motor, swivel hose, dual-edge cleaning and 20-ft. cord.
The three Home Cleaning Systems are either 4.0 or 5.0 peak hp. The top-of-the-line model comes with a 25-ft. cord, 5.0 peak hp, cord reel, Powertouch handle with variable-speed control, headlight, dual-edge cleaning, tool cover, a new 270-degree swivel hose, and remote speed control.
“We believe the new World Vac canister and Home Cleaning Systems will kindle increased interest in this market, particularly with more and more homes going to bare floors in addition to carpeting,” notes John Hoppe, vice president of marketing.
“The designs and features will appeal, in particular, to those consumers who are attracted to the canister concept because of its multipurpose cleaning abilities.”
Eureka Co’s World Vac vacuum cleaner product line reflects its commitment to environmental and social concerns. Part of the profits to be earned from World Vac sales will be handed to the National Park Foundation and the American Heart Assn. World Vacs feature Filteraire dust bags which filter out 99% of dust and dirt. Eureka Pres Gilbert L. Dorsey stated that the charitable contributions and the environmental design are part of his company’s commitment to a better Earth.
