What are the Differences Between a Juicer vs Blender
I have often been asked what is best a juicer or a blender. Well the answer is actually quite simple the two machine do different jobs in the kitchen, so you need to choose the appliance that best suits your personal requirements.
What Does a Juicer Do?
A juicer is designed to extract the juice from fruits and vegetables. The fruits and vegetables are fed into the machine by the chute and the juice comes out of a spout into a suitable vessel. The pulp, which consists of the fibrous parts of the fruit or vegetables is either collected internally or is continuously expelled from the machine.
What Does a Blender Do?
The reason blenders and juicer become mixed up in peoples minds is that the blender is one if the best ways to make a fruit or fruit/vegetable smoothie. As smoothies and juice are both fruit drinks this is the reason for the confusion. Some smoothie recipes that you make in the blender call for fruit or vegetable juice as one of it”s ingredients.
To add to your confusion you can kind of make juice in a blender, but I personally have found this more trouble than it’s worth. See this video which explain the steps you have to go through….
Apart from making smoothies the blender can be used liquidize soup, make purees and mayonnaise. But what it can’t do is extract the juice from fruit and vegetables.
So What’s Best?
In my opinion if you are a keen juicer then you really do need to have a proper juicer. I would definitely advise you to buy a juicer that is easy to clean up afterwards. I had a juicer once that took nearly 15 minutes to clean afterwards!!!! If you prefer to drink the whole fruits and vegetables (some folks think this is healthier than drinking juices) then you really need to have a blender.
